Forum: 'View active topics' [no more] defect
Posted: Sun Dec 06, 2009 12:03 pm
Hello ,
for three days now the forums-searching function 'View active topics' is defect and only returns the results = 0 .
It concerns all three forums / all four phpBB themes and has been confirmed to me by three forum members.
I have already pointed it out within another thread, but didn't resive any feedbacks. Neither seems anybody else use this function as there's been no reaction or other request about it.
Then I ask for help in the german forums but only got the a further confirmation about that missfunction, that the problem is unsolvable by that person and I should try patience on it. [how should my patience repair a script ?]
For me the active topics is an elementary feature to find the way me in the forum, as I do not know which threads belong to which subforum. So now I have to compare the actual time to the times before refreshing the page and search the main-board for difference open all sub-board and search again where the time-change took place .... and if I want to come back to a topic a bit later or next day, I have to search all those sub-boards again ... for both forums ... this is absolutely confusing and I lose any overview I can't find a stable basic.
The NewTopics are of no real use to me, because they are only available on being logged in, besides it does not show me those topics that to me are active but didn't get a new posting since my last visit so likewise I have to search the whole board to find them.
As this is a major function to be found on any forum I hope that for this reason it's a none acceptable status.
To me this is no matter of a small inconvenience but realy urgent as again, like in the weeks after the phpBB change I lose orientation and contact with the forums, and I seriously ask your help to fix it.
Or give me an answer like:
- we do care about it, but didn't find a solution yet, but it shouldn't stay like this
- it's out of our reach - you have to wait until the next forums-update
- we don't bother, we have other ways to orientate
- you should handle the forums so and so ...
Besides this, another change has occured: the german notification replies have started to be in english so there as well I lose the overview, where a notification belongs to.
greetings ~ Vera
