Yep. I wasn't able to access the forums for hours. Just managed to do so 1 minute ago.

So I hope the problem is fixed now.

I have a dead parrot to ward off any attack! A quick slap around the chops with that festering thing should do the trick!
I figured it might some kind of dos attack as the server was/is refusing HTTP requests.

A compiler cross platform, with x86/x64 support, a very affordable price, a friendly license and getting some interest from people currently using other basic compilers (win only or 32 bit only) ?
I guess a DOS attack from time to time has to be expected !
But I'm sure I'm wrong.

It's a quite serious one, more than 500 computers are flooding the server.

Would it make any difference or does it help if we didn't try to call the forums - reducing some of the demands or traffic ?

Eugene Kaspersky is right, everyone should have an internett passport to access the net, so that every individual
is identified. Just like you need a licenceplate and a drivers licence for your car.
I think he is a former KGB, and probably knows what he talks about, and those asshole criminals who are all
over the place can go kiss themselves goodbye.

Fred, I don't know if you have actually access to your own server or if the server is hosted at your provider... anyway can you see if the attack is coming from a geographically restricted region ?
Or if it's coming from all around the globe ? Maybe through zombies ? Are the IP reals or spoofed addresses ? I believe some CISCO routers can automatically drop the traffic coming from spoofed addresses...
Is a classical ICMP flood with large data packets ?
Hope you guys will not need to confront yourself with this problem too ! Another time consuming activity... but maybe that's the idea behind this

Yes, funny how it happens a day after Fred locked the PowerBasic thread.

Regardles, it appears we're back in business!
Pfew. Needed my fix.
Edit: nah, it isn't reliable... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...
