Coding MCE Plugin using PureBasic?

I'm interested in coding an application for my Windows Media Center. As I never get in touch with the WMC API I dont event know if this is possible using purebasic. Regarding to the MSDN, coding an application for MCE is possible using C# or even VB. The API seems to use COM Objects only, and this is the definitive end for me atm.
Maybe someone started something in this direction and can give some hints?
