Won't display bmp

Tried visual designer. Generated a mountain of code but when I treid to run it it announced I had a deprecated function. What is it and how do you get rid of it?
the actual VD puts the function CreateGadgetList().
it's no longer necessary, but so far doesn't disturb functionality.
... when some bmp doesn't display, your problem is somewhere else.
