My web hosting service decided to reset all passwords for all their customers. Unfortunately, this coincided with me changing email accounts. They made the changes before I had a chance to update my email address on record (which I can't access anymore). Tech support (when I can get somebody who speaks English) are not able to rectify the situation.

Once again, I am in need of a web hosting service. Cheap, but reliable. Just somewhere to post my freeware projects done in PB and other languages.

Due to past issues, I will not use:

powweb.com

Any suggestions?

Hey Brice... there are a few options open to you depending on what you want to spend and features you require.

• http://www.000webhost.com <<< Free Gives you php & mysql and a rather good control panel. Just remember you get what you pay for lol. Peak times and weekends you sometimes get issues and make regular backups.

As long as you put in enough details about your problems and the solutions you have already tried to resolve the issues yourself, they are then very helpful, and there are some very knowledgeable support staff there

Not exactly hosting a web site, but I use Nabble forums (hosted entirely by Nabble) and embedded in my website. The forums are good and require little effort to set up.

I recommend FreeYellow.com as they have been completely reliable for over 10 years for me.

$95/yr includes 300GB storage, 3000GB monthly bandwidth, email, webmail, and a long list of free goodies. You also get a free domain name at that price level. There are cheaper plans. Just take a look at their list.

They did just make changes to their passwords to to increase security, but they notified me by email constantly until I logged in and changed my password to meet the new requirments. Not a problem at all.

I've exceeded 10 years, so you know I must be a satisfied customer.

Has anyone tried godaddy.com? Some of their options seemed good but I don't know anything about them.

Been using them for my personal/family web site and forum for a while with zero problems other than problems I create myself...

It's also nice to have domains, e-mail, hosting, and ssl all in one bill.

I tried DreamHost before this and the service was completely oversubscribed and unusable. I was offered a refund as compensation so I took it and left.

I won't use GoDaddy because they use Network Solutions as their registrar and they have some pretty shady practices in place that they claim is there to protect their customers but is really only there to increase their sales.

I've used GoDaddy for my domains and hosting for a few years now and been very happy. I used 1&1 before and have to say they were absolutely hopeless.

Hostgator have some bad reputation, but for me has work at 100%

Yahoo gives me real pro hosting, without some problems that other have, loike you IPs being set as spammer because some other people in same server maybe send spam, etc. In my own experience, Yahoo is very serious.

I use 3ix.org for a couple of years now... Pretty good for the price they charge and no problems until today!
