It would be nice if the PB Editor/Compiler...could remember if the project has an icon assigned to it.

Instead of having to keep resetting it from the options.

to my knowledge, when you assign an icon in the compiler options, it stays associated to the source file...

At least here it did in 4.20... haven't build any serious projects with 4.30 yet
