Hi,
This 2º version of the Visual IDE is ready to download at the beta stage (no documentation at all, but dont needed since its so simple to us and maybe some bugs

i hope not because i have checked but...).
This version is more simple and straight: does only the GUI design and give as output the skeleton for the app.
It can save the project (can't open a pb file).
Warning, if you replace an old code you can loose the additional code that you add by hand since the Visual IDE creates a completely new pb file everytime.
In the first version i add some intelisense feature and some complex ideas that wasnt finished and that makes the development very large... so i decide to forget this kind of approach this time and make a straight GUI designer.
Gadgets supported at the moment:
ButtonGadget
TextGadget
StringGadget
ButtonImageGadget
ImageGadget
CheckBoxGadget
OptionGadget
ListBoxGadget
ComboboxGadget
ProgressbarGadget
ListIconGadget
TreeGadget
and Multiwindow creation.
Menus, PopUps, etc are not supported and i dont think its needed since the idea is to give a tool for the visual design only.
Any idea, suggestion, etc are welcome.
Download url: (i hope Paul could host the file, i loose his mail and thats why i cant ask him directly)
http://www.getafile.com/cgi-bin/merlot/ ... ualIDE.zip
As this Visual IDE was developed using VB6, need a looooooot of runtimes dont included on the zip, if VB6 runtimes are not on your system download it from:
http://www.getafile.com/cgi-bin/merlot/ ... ntimes.zip
If some other dlls are missing, im sure you can get it from the old version (available at Paul's site) or post here what files did you need and i will upload it.
Thanks and have fun : )

Nice work ricardo !!
I replaced your older version IDE with this current one on the Resources Site.
Will you be adding PanelGadgets and FrameGadgets?
It would also be nice if the gadgets snapped to the grid as you moved them... and also if you could nudge them with the arrow keys. (just some suggestions)

Is it normal, or does this happen only here ??

Excellent work!
Small suggestion: Add a cancel button to 'Do you want to save?' message box that appears when you close the app.

No problems here: Close button works fine and CPU usage reported by Windows Task Manager never goes above 2%, stays at zero when the program is doing nothing (Windows XP, msvbvm60.dll version 6.0.89.64)

It is looking very good! I think however that your 'show selected window' button must have been made by evil Microsoft employees, because it freezes up my entire computer each time I press it. Hahaha..
I tested this three times, on Windows 98 SE 2nd Edition, 448 MB ram, 2 GB free hard disk, Voodoo 3000. It crashes everything each time. Any ideas why that may be so? What exactly is that button intended to do?
Thanks, and take care.

Hi Ricardo
Nice work... i have only tested the GUI atm and not the generated source output... I just found a small bug... If you close the opened project window and try to open a new one, your IDE will ask to save... When click on "No" the program will return a RunTimeError10 here on my system...

Sorry, here works fine this button.
If you have 2 or more windows you can use that panel to see every one or delete some window, etc.
I will check what could be freezing your PC.

Hi ricardo
I will follow with some more bug-reports of your IDE beta...
- When starting your IDE and maximize the window "Window1" inside your project ProjectWindow and try to resize then the ProjectWindow, it will fail... if you minimize or resize the "Window1" smaller, you can resize the ProjectWindow too...
- If you quit your program via menu it will return RunTimeError365!

Hi ricardo
We will continue with bug reports
- If you started your program, go to the "Menu/Properties" to get the PropertiesWindow on screen... Now go to the "Windows Section" and click on the "Remove Selected Window" button... If you would now click on any of the other 3 buttons (no window exist atm) the program will return RunTimeError10...
- If you add a ListIconGadget() or a TreeGadget() and try to copy and paste it... It will not be copied... If you want to paste the copied object, it will placed in the left standard corner but the old (source of of the destination) will be removed... (also the old one will only placed on x,y 0... If you know what i mean...

Hello ricardo
Its again me, the forum bug-report flooder
- Add some of the buttons/gadgets to your clean project window (2-3 objects would be ok) and then close the window... The IDE will ask you to save... We will say yes (due fact the IDE will crash else)... Now we will open/create a "New Project" and as you may see... the project window will not be cleaned up... instead you will have the same old objects (boxes and gadgets) on the new open project as before...
