Is it just me or is the demo completely ineffective at showing what purebasic can do. I downloaded it, but the size limitation will not even let me run the example programs that come WITH the demo.
I hear lots of people talking about purebasic in a good light, but whenever someone (like myself) mentions the demo they cough and spudder like its embarassing.
Has this been brought up before. I'm trying to get a feel for the level of support for PureBasic too

Yes. I too was disappointed by the demo (way back at v2.40) but after a lot of
reading here, I decided to buy PureBasic and hope for the best. Turns out to be
the best thing I ever did, and the best Basic I've ever used. I've mentioned
this before here, but I also own Visual Basic, which I paid AUS $950 for, and I
haven't used it for an app since buying PureBasic, so that says it all for how
happy I am with PureBasic... Just buy it -- you won't regret it.

I have to agree. But even though you cannot run all of the demo code, you can look at it and determine that PureBASIC is capable of some quite powerfull programming. That is what convinced me to buy it, along with code examples and comments here on the forums. --Joe
Oh, I forgot to mention.. ..Fred (PureBASIC's author) is always watching the forums. When a suggestion is made, or some code doesn't work, or a bug is suspected.. ..he's right there for us.

Ya, I use Blitz3D right now (have been a beta tester forever) but I need to do some network coding which Blitz is NOT intended for. I really have a hate on for the size and bloatedness of VB code for doing something small.
But.. Money is tight right now and every $ matters.. so I have to spend wisely at least for now. My version of VB is way out of date now too though.. Doh!
