You probably have some user libraries not compatible with PB4.30

I am unable to install any 430 beta.

Thank you for youe qiuck reply.
The only library I have installed is Purevision, without which my project will not compile. So I will stick to 420 for now
Thanks again.

pse note: when installing another version of PB, it's necessary to install it into a virgin directory!

no, it's not necessary.

It is necessary if you wish to avoid incompatible user lib problems.

well, if your program use them, you will have to copy them as well, so the result is the same.

What I mean is, most people will just install the new PureBasic over the old
one, without doing anything to the userlib folder. Perhaps the Updater could
rename the userlib folder to the old version number, to show that it's specific
to an older PureBasic version? Would help newbies discover their problem.

For a beta? I always install a beta into a fresh directory and keep my old one.

I would like to have the version number in the .exe name and in the
folder name to ease running different versions on the same machine.
I can't convince my windumb to open 4.2 when double clicking a .pb file,
it insists in opening the 4.1

That sounds like a good idea to me. :D
