Anyone know if there is a version of PureBasic for Mac OS X in the works?
If not, is there any interest in such a version?
Thanks!

Hi USCode
Definly not... there is no PureBasic version for Macintosh available yet and i dont really think that there will come a Macintosh version soon! Because all three available PureBasic versions (Windows, Linux, Amiga) will be coded by only one men, Fred.
At the moment Fred spent all this time to work on the next Linux version! I personaly think that Fred has enough work with this three versions to add new commands/features and to fix bugs. Maybe there will be somewhere out there a person who would help Fred to part PureBasic to MacOS too...!? We will see...
Btw Fred is doing a really great job!

I agree, he's doing a fantastic job - like you said, especially for just 1 person.
I wonder if his time would be better spent working on a Mac OS X version instead of the Amiga version though. There's a much bigger market for the Mac OS than the Amiga OS... just a thought.

Why not vote for it ?? (Fred)
Ask how many users really use the Amiga version
and ask what they do with it.
IMO its not worth to make a Amiga version when
only 2 or 3 people actually use it (maybe!).
Dont live in the past -> go and look to the future.

Please don't take it bad but ...
I can't agree with you the people who bought PB for their Amiga, shouldn't be
left in the cold ... (after all if they are registered user they also paid
for a product and service ...). And NO I don't have an Amiga, just an old
Atari which I keep to use Jeff Minter's Trip-A-Tron ...
Bests.
Stan.
Since I attended an MS course, my programs no longer have bugs ... just hidden "features" !! [ PB. registered user ]

A MacOS version version will be done when I will have a Mac . Not soon, but who knows ? As MrVainSCL said, I've to get the 3 versions upto date before starting something new. Anyway, porting to the Mac should be fairly easy, about 2 months of work I guess.

Hi Fred,
A Mac OS X machine might be a good investment for you, there are a lot more Mac users out there than Amiga users. You'll sell many more PureBasic Mac OS X licenses than you will Amiga licenses, easy.
There are some affordable Macs available to you:

Thanks Fred and keep up the terrific work!

I wasn't trying to suggest that it was a plug and play thing, just that some of the foundation may be there. Still, one man, 3 OS's... yikes.

I will use pb for amiga, i dont use now because i have some problems to run PB on my amiga, it crashes, but i want to make programs for Amiga and PC.

I really agree to the others and I know, that PureBasic is a very good product and fred does a fantastic job.
IMO the 3 "big" (most used Desktop-Systems) are Windows, Linux and MacOS. I do not have any experience with AmigaOS, so I can't say something about it.
At the moment I'm working with Windows an Linux, but a MacOS-Port of PureBasic sounds very interesting and wouldn't be a bad idea.
But that needs time, and also a Mac *ggg*

I think that some people dont know the power of emulators... im my Amiga with a motorola 68030 and 50mhz the mac emulators works well(old macs with 68k processors), think in a powerful Pentium with a lot of velocity and memory. With emulators you can have any plataform, you only need configure the emulator and get the OS of emulated system... if you dont have a plataform and money, use a emulator...
