Buying MP3's online?

I want to buy some MP3's online. I'm not using an IPOD, just a 'normal' mp3 player that I can copy mp3s to from my PC.
Yahoo have this great service where you can search and listen to 30secs online but being outside the US/Canada I can't purchase through it (yet?).
Some sound kind of dodgy but I don't really know for sure.
Any good experiences? cheap, easy, lots of tracks, easy to search (or as close to that as I can get)

perhaps better ask your workmates.
there should be good download-portals in Japan for each kind of international music.

legalsounds.com is great. Generally under $1 in American pesos (ie- the US dollar) for an entire album.
Whether or not it is really legal is up to you.

They all have ipods and use itunes...
It would completely destroy my anti-mac position
Apple's as bad as Sony
Thanks for the
http://www.mp3sugar.com/ link, I'll give them a go then try the legal sounds

They let you preview (prelisten??) the songs and you can buy them on mp3's, vinyl or cd's. (I like the high bitrate mp3's and the vinyl), check it out!
