Hello,

Description:
Hover-Bots is an action-racing game with 3 modes:

* Practice
* Race
* Network

In "Practice" mode you can select one of 6 maps and drive against 3 bots. In "Race" mode you will drive on all maps against 3 bots. And in the mode "Network" you can choose if you'll be a client or a server for a network (LAN or Internet) and you can drive against another player on a map you choose.
Furthermore the game has 3 Items: Mines, targeting rockets and turbo.

Target audience:
The game is for people, who miss the old Nintendo 64 times or children.

Comments:
This project has taken a long time for me to develop, so I decided to split it in two versions: A free one(Demo) and a full one. You can support me by purchasing the full version if you like my work.

Screenshots:

Guessed minimal requirements:
- OpenGL 1.5 or higher (2.0 for shaders)
- 3D Accelerated Graphicscard (32MB)
- Processor with 1,4 GHz or higher

P.S.:
You need to run the Options.exe in Admin mode on Vista (Otherwise it won't write to the preferences file). I can't compile it in Admin mode, because my antivirus software thinks its a virus then.

Here is a small flash-video:

The screenshots look fun, but ive downloaded the game and when I run it I get the following error:

The game then closers, followed by a windows send error report dialog.

Any ideas?

Works on mine, but even on easy it is damn hard, at least it is for me.

Thanks for the answers.
Try disabling the grass, sound or shaders or set it to the minimum in the options, Hydrate.

If it doesn't work: could you give me your system specs, please?

@Derek: I will try making it a bit easier.

It still fails, here are my system specs:

1GB DDR Ram
80GB Harddrive
Geforce FX 5700LE
2.6 Ghz processor
Windows Vista Ultimate

The only problem I can think of is that it might be vista, I hope not, it works with most other games...

I think it is a problem with Vista after I have seen your specs :-( , I'm sorry. I couldn't test it on Vista, yet.

Works fine here, but it runs smoother with the shading enabled. And when you turn maybe you should increase the friction a little. I think it's great work and if you continue improving this game it might get popular!
*thumbs up* (we don't see many 3d games in here...)

One minor niggle.

At the very first screen, the one where the PB logo comes up, the refresh rate or something is really bad. The flicker almost gave me a headache.

Hmm... press escape, then you'll get to the "Loading" screens. I haven't seen such a problem, yet.

[EDIT]
Easier version uploaded.

[EDIT]
Options.exe -> "Start Game" starts also the uninstaller. It will be fixed with the next version.

Huh, no widescreen support (eg 1680x1050) ? :(

No. Try editing the ini file. Maybe it works, maybe not, but it isn't supported by me.

New version is uploaded(same Link):

- The Hovercrafts are tending more into the curve.
- Stringgadgets in the control sections are white now with blue text.
- Uninstaller bug fixed.
- More screenresolutions added
- Physics changed a bit (Hopefully you can control it better now)
- Difficulty thrown down a bit more.

Maybe I will change the maximum lap count to 3 instead of 5. 5 is a bit too long, isn't it?

@Hydrate: Have you tried it with admin rights? The game works fine on Vista Ultimate 32 Bit for Falko (German forum).

Certainly seems easier to control and yet, for the life of me, I can't keep up with the little buggers even on easy.

It's probably me, I'm crap at games.

:lol: They have a bit bigger areas to drive, but they normally don't drive there :? . I can try making the player a bit faster accelerating for the next version.
