SQLite on PB Mac

If I refer to the PB manual, there is a support of the database library on Mac. Does anybody has an example. The example file is missing on the PB Mac distribution.
Additionally I figured out, that there is a SQLite version already embedded on Mac OS. Has anybody experienced how to access this?
I would like to write a database application on Mac.
