Hello!
I registered just a minute ago and I wanted to edit my profile, but when submitting the changes, I get the following message:
Are you an automated spam-bot? If not, please contact the Board Administrator.
How can I contact the Board Administrator? Thanks!

Howdy and Welcome
I am guessing that may happen because you are new. We have had a ton of troubles with spam bots. Perhaps they set it so you can't modify your profile until you have made a couple of posts? Dunno, but maybe one of the mods will help you out

I certainly am not a spam-bot.. maybe there is a 5-post-first policy here.. don't know. Anyway, it's good that I can atleast post here
So.. let's start with the classic introduction:
Hello!
I am an exchange student in Norway (
I'm Finnish) looking for a programming language suitable for easy graphical user interface and game creation. In the past I was using BlitzMax, but it was a little hard to learn and use for simple applications, so I was searching for something else and I found PureBasic. It seems that there is a Linux version too, because I will be doing programs for Linux mainly. My questions would be, how powerful (
and easy) PureBasic can be? Are there some commercial products (
probably games) that have been made with PureBasic? I hope I found what I want, because I certainly don't want to learn Dev-C++.
Thanks!

welcome!
I bet this was implemented to prevent bots from linking porn-sites in their profiles.
I presume it has to be "opened" manually by an Admin, but I don't know for sure.
just be a bit patient, I think there's nothing that importent to change within your profile...
PB is really powerful
and easy, in the end a bit depending on what you want to do.
if you want to play tricks with different threads (sub-processes) solving events for dozents of windows at the same time, then that is not really easy....
have a look at the announcement-subforum.
there are some games in it.
if you are a bit familiar with the german language, you can have a look at the german game-subforum, too.

This is cool!
I think I am going to call my father to purchase it for me from Finland, because as an exchange student I wasn't able to take a credit card with me
There is nothing special to change in my profile, but I wanted to personalize this forum a little.. if the moderators and PureBasic developers see this, please "open" the profile access for me. Thanks!
EDIT: It seems that I can update my profile, but if I edit the signature, I get the spam-bot message.. I wanted to have this as my signature, nothing suspicious:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (~1.86Ghz), NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT, 1024Mb RAM, Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 "Etch"

Oh ok, thanks for clarifying!
PureBasic Team.. are you the developer of PureBasic? I just got my account information and I just logged in to download the Linux version, and I have to say that it is ABSOLUTELY GREAT! The syntax is easy, it seems to be ultra-powerful and the examples supplied with it explain its features very well!
