I am not very sure about my CPU and GPU heat values.. I think they are Ok, but just in case...

Code: Select all

CPU Heat
--------

Idle: 38C
Compiling: 46C
Playing a game: 42C

Code: Select all

GPU Heat
--------

Idle: 52C
Playing a 2D game: 58C
Playing a 3D game: 63C
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (~1.86Ghz) CPU
And a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT GPU.

Please post your CPU and GPU results here so I can be sure that my system is Ok or not, thanks!

Roomtemperature: 28C

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+

Code: Select all

CPU Heat
--------

Idle: 36C
Compiling: 41C
Playing a game: 48C
Xtreme Force 6800 GT 256 AGP 8x

Code: Select all

GPU Heat
--------

Idle: 60C
Playing a 2D game: 61C
Playing a 3D game: 68C
looks pretty normal ...

HMM. Cpu warmer when you compile than when you PLAY? THAT is definently weird

Possibly a not-100-pct-cpu-eating-game. :)
I used Oblivion as reference ( 100% Load )

My guess too, but that would be a bad test, as most full-screen games eat 100%

If you can't fry eggs on your computer it's good.

I'd say the opposite. I use it to heat my coffee on :)
Well, you gotta expect a lot of heat when you overclock an
AMD athlon 64 3800+ to 15ghz..

The games I play use 100% CPU.. and most of them are full-screen.. here are a few to name:
Chaos Legion
Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition
Need For Speed: Most Wanted Black Edition
Need For Speed: Carbon Collector's Edition
MegaMan X7 Korean Version
MegaMan X8 English Version

I can't tell why the CPU is warmer if I compile.. but it seems that when I play games, only the other core of my CPU is used 100%, but the other one is used like 20% or 30%.. but when compiling, both cores are at 100%.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted Black Edition only uses 30% on mine. BattleField 2 and GRAW, only do 35%. FEAR is probably the best one for me as it only does 23%. All of these are full screen. As for compiling, it doesn't even budge. What the heck are you guys doing to use 100% for a full screen game?

No, I have an Intel Pent4 3 Ghz on the game machine, running Vista Ultimate.
