S/PDIF out connection of a laptop

Post by Psychophanta »

Today i have seen a red light going out of the lineout/phones mini jack connector of my laptop.
I have tested it switching on and off by going to the audio volume control in the windows taskbar, and clicking on the checkbox "S/PDIF Enable" while watching back at the red light, the light went on and off while i was enable or disable the S/PDIF feature.

Now i have a question , and may be someone know about: are there a connector to plug in the minijack female to get the SPDIF signals? and i have an old but veeery good audio amplifier, how can i adapt SPDIF to it?

What kinds of inputs does your amplifier have?
Usually, the S/PDIF input looks like a RCA-like yellow input.
