Updated to vs 3.40 this morning.
Now the compiler just locks up and never returns. What have I
done wrong. I just ran the Update Tool.
LCCLNK remains running in task list.
Please help me get started again.

What do you mean, exactly? After a source has loaded? Or when trying
to compile + run a source? Or when trying to compile to an exe?
Much more info needed, please.

In my frustration, I didn't provide enough information.
It locks up in both Compile & Run or Compile to EXE. Just never
returns at all. No exe is ever created.
LCCLNK is left running in the task list.
This occurred after using the UpdateTool to update to Vs. 3.40.
Haven't been able to compile in any manner since.
Thanks for your help

Fred, can you be more specific. I don't seem to have any User Libraries installed.
In fact, this all started when I realized that the Date library was not there and reinstalled vs. 3.40 to get it back.
Maybe I misunderstood your instruction.
Thanks,
Terry

Try to reinstall your official version and then patch it. It should work.. If not, just mail me.

Thanks Fred,
After carefully reinstalling from the official version and applying
all updates, it now works successfully. Still don't know what
happened, but maybe a path got messed up.
Anyway, its fine now.
Thanks again,
Terry

hi terryhough
maybe you have only installed any user lib responsible for the prob!? Or you have had two and the same libs installed into main lib folder and one in the user lib folder? So its possible, that there was one command two times available = also a conflict...!?

You only need to install the latest update after your official version,
and not all the in-between updates.
