What security features are in play? Its a nice software, but at the same time, if it does get popular, whats to stop me from clicking on a website, and a exe runs on the page, filling my computer with unwanted stuff like virus', or even opening a doorway for hackers?

Well, that was discussed on many forums like indiegamer.com and blitzbasic forums too.

First to run any program using OSA Kit you will need a license which will run only valid and checked programs. The license file hold encrypted information about the URL of file being downloaded, it exact name and it is size in bytes, OSA Kit will compare this info against the file being downloaded and if anything wrong it will WARN the user that the program is not licensed and could harm his computer!

If anyone hacked the game/app file he must make sure the file still has the same size in Bytes which is hard to do! or even the if the developer updated his game/app he will need to get another license for it to work.

It is all about trust, what will prevent you, me or anyone from harming anyone's computer the normal way by giving a link to my game demo which is infected by a virus or do nasty things when the user Download, Install and Run!

You may say what if he hacked OSAKit itself then it won't be signed anymore and a potential unsafe message will be shown to the user unless he signed it on his own which I doubt he will do that but suppose he did then it is about the user Trust the person/site who signed this ActiveX or not.

You may say what if someone made KeyGen for it and it is Hard but Possible then I would say again it is all about TRUST, if you trust me you will try my demo be it offline or online.

I did look at the demo's on the OSA website and thats a pretty cool kit!

I asked not to be a pain in the ass, but to get an answer to a question i think will be on a lot of peoples minds when looking at the OSA Kit, and it looks like a good system is in place to prevent it. :)

I hope you do get a lot of buisness from this.

Quotes from thamarok post some time ago on another topic :
Sphinx this works in my Linux!
I used CrossOver Office to "emulate" the browser plugin and I was able to use OSAKit in my Linux browser, Konqueror.

Cheers

I've checked out the breakout demo. I've noticed that you can't scroll the IE page containing this control (game content) by dragging the vertical scroll bar. You can only scroll the content by clicking the up & down scroll arrow or clicking above or below the scroll bar. From a cosmetic point of view, this can be a little bit unattractive for some users. On my machine I've also noticed some redraw issues when scrolling, e.g. some minor doubling-up of the upper or lower part of the game. This issue should be fixed.
