account randomly deleted? I only asked what the 'as' keyword does, and I was extremely polite, why did I get the axe?

It's showing 'Guest' now, so it probably got swept up in a block deletion recently. We have had terrible problems with several bogus accounts getting set up advertising porn, drugs, etc. on a daily basis and it's possible yours was deleted by mistake with a block of other new accounts. Best idea imho would be to set up another one, make several programming-related posts on it, and don't put a web address on right away. They look for new accounts with low or no posts and a web address as possible spammers.
