Find/replace with vertical selection

Replacing inside a selection that is vertical doesn't work. The selected area changes and everything inside the new selection is replaced.
The IDE has no support for vertical selections yet.
You can use them for the simple stuff like copy & paste, but the other IDE functions cannot handle them.
I plan to change this somewhen, but i cannot say when it will happen.
