To give yourself a fresh start you might start by downloading the latest full release of GFA-BASIC 32 and start exploring the IDE by executing small examples and constructing your own forms and responding to the events. Be aware that GFA-BASIC, as being a German product, comes with documentation written in German. It is, among other things, this site's goal to provide the english counterpart of the documentation. For english oriented users this site might be the place to obtain your information.

Then again, he who dies with the most number ones, is till dead :-/
Seems the horse is still not completely dead

Nice to see some users try to bring GFA Basic to life again

Whatever happened to GFA Basic? Couple of years ago I finally decided to
go and check it out and buy it, but it was just flat out gone! No notices, no
explanations, nothing, just gone.

I tried compiling a simple Message box program and got this error when running the compiled program
Title:
Der Befelh Prompt.Exe - Unable To Locate Component
Msg:
This application has failed to start because GfaWin23.Ocx was not
found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
The compiled program is a 3 KB file.

You must copy the GfaWin23.Ocx from GFA-Directory in your
Programdirectory, or into the System-Directory.

This is an one ActiveX - Control (GfaWin23.Ocx) for all your compiled GFA-Exe from GB32.
It should be in your System-Directory. Then all GFA-Programs
you can run. (Sorry my little english).
When you loading the 16-Bit-GFA-Basic for Windows, it compile little Exe.
