I copied the popupwindow.lib and richedit.lib to the userlibraries, but when compiling the function of the two libraries are not recognized.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

You don't have to copy those files, but "RichEdit" and "PopUpWindow", with no extension. Files inside the "src" folder are just that: source files, you don't need them to use the library.

If you have any further problem regarding those libs, just ask :) (but I'll be away for the next 15 days).

Bye,

PS: I liked Montpellier a lot, nice place and nice people.

Hi El_Choni, obviously I'm leaving a better place IMHO at the opposite side of Pyrenees mountains, I confirm Montpellier is nice.

We will help cor while you will be away.

Just you should have popupwindow lib in the PureBasic\PureLibraries\UserLibraries directory (starting your Purebasic installation directory).

If this does not work maybe you have a library mix-up (either two versions of the lib or something like this).

If you are not sure about libs contents, maybe we can check this.

I am using a V3.40 release of Purebasic with PopUpWindow lib dated aug 02/2002 57362 bytes. It works fine to me.

Don't forget that after copying new libraries into the USer Library folder, you must restart your IDE for them to start working.

cor,

You have to copy the popupwindow and richedit libs with no file extention to the PureBasic\PureLibraries\UserLibraries directory. Then restart PureBasic's Editor.

We can suppose there is a mess in your libs. Dont't know were.

I had a bug once because I copied updated libs with an extension without cancelling old ones without. I made issues until I deleted old copies and accesorily renamed files with extensions to without (obviously I believe Purebasic does not care about libraries names).

Don't know if it helps.

Cor, to be sure that you have copied the right file, look @ this file with a file viewer.
The Header of this file (binary file) should start with 'ERUP'.
Hope this helps.

Have a nice day...

I think there's been a little misunderstanding here: there is a file in each library 'package' which has no extension in its name (i.e., "RichEdit"). That's the file to be copied to the UserLibraries folder. You don't need the "RichEdit.lib" file (I guess you tried to use it by renaming it, am I right?). Anyway, I'll post you the files to avoid further problems.

Bye,
