Telforce (a new isp coming out in my area) are trying to force everyone to HAVE to use their lines if we want to use the internet... They don't even have ADSL2 support, so theres no way i'm letting them go through with that. Also on their lines, they're trying to make it so secure, that only applications approved by them can be used through the lines... Getting worse, eh? Well, that's not it. Telforce are also trying to put a local ban on any un-authorized programming to prevent any dangerous things being made... I've been outside telnet most of yesterday protesting lol, apparently the whole region are telling them to get pissed, so a council was set up and they're taking them to court... Will see how it goes, but man if they do this, i swear there may be a few murder's occuring in their building :/

Well, move to another isp. Tell Telforce to screw themselves..
Telforce are also trying to put a local ban on any un-authorized programming to prevent any dangerous things being made
You mean on their 'telecom' network? (ADSL etc?)
How do they want to achieve that without loosing customers.
What area are you in by the way?
[Off Off topic -->]
I think the whole telecom and computer industry (better: the whole society) is moving to a world that is build on security (read: captivity).
The problem is that we (the ppp's - pretty poor people) will loose everything that's still left..

It's probably a great 'idea' for 'normal' users who use chat clients and read newspapers online. But please, there's always a way around that anyways

Just what in the world do they think they are?
If they would come and knock on my door, I'd take a cheap modem and smack it on their heads and say: "Isn't the service that stable?"

Court results are back... Their plans have completely been banned... Now telforce is closing down because they 'don't want to be like any other isp out there'... Man, i kinda feel sorry for them... Oh wait, no thats just the ice-cream being digested. They got what was coming for them! Else, yes, i would've stolen their modems, ddos them, most likely do everything i can to f*** up their network
Telforce still isn't sure if they're closing or not, though when they first said it, they seemed like they wanted to put the guilt on us all

Btw may I ask where you live Origin? Here there are pritty many ISPs around to choose fromn though most of them must use the lines of the state owned communications company.
