Fred's first day at school

"OK, Class, let's see if we can print the numbers up to ten. Marcie, good. Jimmy, very good. Fred. Hmm. What did we learn is the first number? It wasn't 0, was it? No, it was 1."
"Excuse me, Madame, but 0 makes much more sense as location for a first element"
(rolls eyes) "We always start at one, Fred. Try again"
(incredulous) "Non-zero based arrays? mais non!"
"That's it, Fred, go to the principal's office!"
"Excuse me, but where will I be returning to from there? And what will I have with me?
"You'll be returning to right here and you'll be bringing a note!"
"Well, if my return location is known and specified, I don't think you meant "Goto..."
"I said what I meant!"
"OK, but please be specific, do you mean "note" or "pointer to note"?
"I mean NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! Now go!"
"OK, I'm going, but will the principal know he's providing a note?"
"You'll tell him."
"OK, but if what he expects to be providing isn't the same as what I -"
"GO!! JUST GO!! Oh, why the hell didn't I become a nurse?"
(calls over shoulder as he runs away) "Garbage to the end of the line!"
