Webgadget Ignores Tabs

Hey all, I've just noticed something that has me scratching my head. Apparently tabs get lost when there is a webgadget on a form. Hitting tab (when the webgadget has focus) should move through form fields/links/etc.
I've seen reports of this over the last 3 years but no "official" word either way.
What gives?
