Please? It would really help when you've got more than a small number of procedures in that side bar list.

I agree - I've thought the same thing myself.

It's already in the Preferences....

Thanks Pheonix for pointing it out - certainly is buried in there. I think this function is something you don't necessarily want full-time as is suggested by the preference. It would be better if there was a button near the IDE procedures listing to toggle between alpha & regular order (or simply a right-mouse click context menu when clicked over the proc listing to select the order choice).

I found it, in the place where you choose which tabs you want, select the procedure browser and in the little area below it is the option

There is extensive documentation for the IDE. This particular feature is mentioned
both in the "Buildin Tools" and "Configuring the IDE" sections. Dunno
how to discribe this stuff more clearly.

We don't write docs in 3 languages just for fun... they are there to be read ;)

It doesn't matter how clear it is, they won't read it.

Well... the actual pb docs are good. I just never thought to read the IDE docs.

Hang on - let's consider a couple of other things here.. help useability & IDE useability. Granted it may be human nature for people to not read the manual. For those times they do, let's make the task easier. A friendly message to the doc writers -> how about properly indexing your help file, so people can actually use the search feature to help themselves effectively. Try doing a search for "alphabetical" (or similar) in the search part of the help - you wont find the reference to "Customizing the IDE". Therein lies a fundamental help useability problem. Also people have to wade through the "Customizing the IDE" section to find the relevant part near the bottom. At least the link in the "buildin tools" section could have gone directly to the relevant section in "Customizing the IDE". OK that's rather nit-picky, but the whole issue could have been simplified by indexing.

Let's consider the IDE useability. People wouldn't have to use the help if there was a button or right-mouse context function as I mentioned before. Granted this is extra development effort, but considering implementing features like this in future makes reaching for the help file less likely or necessary. If this is considered 'taking things too far', go back to indexing & proper anchoring. Ideally do both.

BTW I really appreciate the help (though it does need a proof-read in places). Thanks.
