Hi,
Can anyone tell me why the networkserver and networkclient examples do not compile in the linux v3.30 examples?
Maybe not all the libraries were updated yet?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, I don't know why the example was included if it doesnt work for that version of the compiler. There is so much we can do for the linux version once we have a fully functional compiler.
I am starting to seriously lose my enthusiasm for purebasic while waiting for these enhancements. I thought v3.30 of purebasic was supposed to be on the same level with the windows version in this respect, well i guess i was wrong again.

The Linux version is almost at the same level than the Windows one. Have you really tried ? All Paul's games compiles and works perfectly, most of the apps runs too. It still need a little twicking, but it's really useable now.. Rings can confirm ?

The compiler (pblinux) itself is on the top and very close to the windows one.
(Some things cannot been done under linux).
Also some libs are missing, but that is not so tragic. Most stuff works with no (or less) modyfing windows-based code.
My Bignum-Code works 100% on both plattforms without any changes.
And of course, you can use the CompilerIF - Statement to code Plattform-depended code too. Some libs are too Windows-based and cannot compile easily under linux, others can be transfered in the future (Fred must have a 48h's day!).But you can began coding seriously under linux as i do.And some hints for the future, 3D-Librarys are available on the linux plattform too........
Its a long way to the top if you wanna .....CodeGuru

Hi Rings,
Thanks for the info, the main trouble i am having is the networkserver and client programs will not compile under linux v3.30. They are included in the examples dir for the linux ver. I am running Mandrake 9.0 linux, maybe i am missing something?
