Please release an update of Win32 PB4

Hi Fred,
the v4 release has been a nice release. However in the so called v4 final release are some bugs that should be fixed in some cases, so some people can continue and/or complete projects.
For some bugs some coding gurus may have a way how to use own working replacements done in ASM or with the API. But nobody is really able to find an alternative to solve bugs from the compiler. For example i am talking about the not working /REASM option.
I think you and some other people here know that the comunity found some bugs of the v4 final release... so i think some people like me would be happy to see an official fixed update like release v4.01 or just packing all fixed stuff (like fixed compiler and fixed libs) to one ZIP archive and put it on the download section for registered users.
Until /REASM does not works, PB4 is in some cases useless for my work, sorry. So it would be nice if you think about this request and bringing PureBasic in a better light

thanks for your attention and thanks in advance. keep on ya work

Yes, ists a tragedy.
There are a lot of not reproducable Bugs.
My proposal:
Simply, we forget the last PB-Release and wait for a new.
@Fred and PB-team.
That is not angry against you.
Human does mistakes.

It's not that bad...

I think threadsafe should be fixed before the Linux version is made with the same problems. (It's more work to correct both versions and it's better with one rock solid threadsafe than two "thread-UNsafe".)
Edit: In either case it would be simple (and a good idea) to release a 4.01 with the current fixes bundled.

I doubt the thread-safe implementation will be the same on linux/windows therefore I doubt it will have the same problems.

Well the mechanisms are nearly the same so, some parts will be the same it depends though. Windowstuff is different for example and so is Gadgetstuff.

I don't have any problems at all with the current release (and the libs out of the websites beta folder).

For now, we are concentrating on linux - we can't do all the things at once as some interdependancies are temporary broken. A small update for Windows will be released once Linux will be in alpha or beta stage.

Ok I think everybody can live with that, we are all humans and only have (up to) 2 hands and 1 brain so our ressources are somewhat limited... However 1 wish remains, as I'm often on my Linux box I can't always keep up with the beta folder and have to search the forums for the link to it when I'm on my Windows box, it would be nice to have a link to the beta folder in the bug reports sections sitckies, maybe with a commented to try these before reporting a bug, this will also help to sort out already fixed bugs.

hehe, right now its impossible to make multi-threaded apps (for the most part). PB compiler just keeps crashing. So I am really hoping, after the linux version, that we get a stable threaded version of PB for windows

great comments on the problems
I understand fred & teams time is short...
hey its still a great language, lets not forget all the new stuff and the bugs that have been dealt with so far
@va!n yes I do agree with you fully on your above comments...
I wont comment further as i think the PB team are doing their best and thats all anyone can ask
PS I think what fred is trying to do is get a full list of all bugs and then clear them for v4.01 later
Regards
Kevin
