Please Fred give us an update on when it'll be available for testing at the least. Its hard to plan a big cross-platform project when you dont know whats going on with the other platforms compiler.

Thanks

Oh, yes please. It's also very hard to share codes with Windows-Users.
Will there be any new features in the IDE? (GTK2-IDE shows ugly fonts --> known, GTK1 sometimes crashes for no reason and wipes source-codes)

Thanks a lot!

We are making great progress on the linux side, so it should have a private alpha testing in a few weeks if all goes well.

Will there be QT support in PB4?

No.

I guess, there are 2 Problems with the QT-Support.

a) QT ist an OOP Class Lib. PB ist not OOP, so is C (wich Fred uses to code PB I think)

b) a QT One-OS License, which Fred would have to buy, costs at least 1590 Euros.

But anyway: we are all happy, that the work on PB4 for Linux is going on. I really hope we can see something soon. *readyfortesting*

I read the interview with Bericko. If there really is a Visual Designer for PB4 on Linux, this will be great!

The problem with QT is everyone which uses PB on linux to makes apps will have to pay for QT if the app isn't opensource, which is not an option.

And if I remember correctly, a QT license is not freaking cheap either. :-(

As I posted above: at least 1590, - Euros for the "Desktop Lite" Version!
Thats horrible. I know the Klass-Libs are great on Linux. They look good. But I've never seen them on Windows.

But anyway: I really like the GTK support (hope its improved in 4.0) and can't wait for the first version of PB4.0-Linux to test.

Quick question regarding the IDE: Lots of people have problems with the GTK2 IDE (Fonts). Will der be any changes or improvements in the IDE?
