Real Simple question

Hi All,
Have been using RealBasic and have begun playing with PureBasic. One question I have is with regard to creating executables.

In RealBasic I could code on the Windows platform then at compile time set the OS target I want (Linux or Mac). Is this possible on PB4?

Or would I have to compile on the target platform ?

Thanks.

Chris

You would have to compile on the target platform!

..although this feature has been requested a number of times. ;)

I hear RealBasic is nice, but it is pretty expensive AFAIK.

Yes, RB is REAL expensive ( if you take into consideration that the IDE and the language itself is quite buggy still ).

I have taken a VB6 program and had to redo it in REALbasic for a client so that he could sell it on MAC's. It was a nightmare.

The RB concept is a good idea and when they get their bugs resolved ( hopefully before they loose their customers ) it will be a pretty cool environment.

But, I to have been looking into purchasing PureBasic. I am going to make that purchase this weekend. PureBasic, for what I want and need, is going to fit the bill better than anything else I have looked at.

Good luck.
