since i dont thrust the site, i simply wanted to ask if someone can confirm this.
At his point i'd also like to say that the BlitzBasic community is kinda angry about the German Purebasic support. They sold alot of copys without buid for example, and now they stopped selling blitzbasic (not enuff $$ i suppose), and redirect
http://www.blitz3d.com to purebasic.de
i mean competition is good for the business, but there should be some fair rules and both communitys shouldnt be in war... that is what is happening.
Both products are co-existing so far, and both have their good and bad things... but is that ok?!
someone else with better english should translate purebasic.de and tell fred the full story whats happening.
dont thrust em too much i would say...

when i was talking about the translation, i ment
http://www.blitzbasic.de
probably the same could happen to
http://www.purebasic.de when they decide to switch to darkbasic pro for example (dont take this too serious)

Don't worry. There are other possibilities...

I looked at the site after reading this topic and there was still a full explanation of why they stopped selling Blitz. Of course, since that is the only place I have read about this stuff I cannot take it as true (there are always two sides to every story).
The basic (ho ho!

story was that the people at BlitzBasic.de got annoyed at Guildhall (gee, there's a surprise) for a variety of reasons and stopped selling Blitz in favour of PureBasic.
But none of this has anything to do with PureBasic, it seems to have only been a problem involving the suppliers of Blitz.

PS, PureBasic already has some 3D commands - the Sprite3D stuff. Or were you hoping that you could do something like:
Code: Select all
; Start of main loop
While exit=0
exit = HeyFredCanYouWriteA3DEngineForMe(#ENGINE_FIRST_PERSON_SHOOTER)
Wend
End
;p
I'm sure Fred mentioned full 3D support was coming, but I don't remember if he gave a date.

Right, I've overlooked it because they have changed the layout (deleted some more links) of the site since yesterday...

well, it seems that the german homepage (
http://www.purebasic.de) says something different. you can read there that it is planned for this year, and i cannot drop the feeling that they only want to sell more copys... infact these guys dont seem to be good to represent purebasic... just read the following...
http://blitzbasic.com/bbs/posts.php?topic=13101
something like this will divide the communitys even more...
maybe its time to react, because both products are good!

From
http://www.purebasic.com/ordering.php3 : "when you buy PureBasic
you will get all future updates for free, on this web site".

Just another reason why I love PureBasic.

veeeery nice,fred...
i got my information from the german homepage as i said, and iam sorry if i acted wrong in this case... but i think people are happy to hear about that
i hope you wont lose the fun while working on purebasic, because you wont get rich with it (as it seems), and could easily get a very good job with your skills (maybe you got one already!).
i got another simple question, is it necessary that we need all these commands like startdrawing etc? many people who code games dislike that, and i wonder why you dont really need that start/stop commands in other languages... maybe purebasic can get rid of it... i dont know!
