I learned myself some html and css and patched together this page:

Most of the pictures are in the png format, and I wonder if this is a bad idea?
Does it show properly in your browsers?
I only tested it with the newest versions of FF and IE.

And my dad complained about the text being hard to read, are you old folks able to read the text?

And btw, I just put some "stupid" stuff up there so it's not totally empty and boring.
But I'm having bether programs/games under development!

Just fixed the buttons so the images are preloaded
I got a forum also, and please let me know if there exists any free forum solutions without that stupid ad.

I agree with your dad, you need to change the color scheme.

I'm probably one of the older forum members and normally dislike dark colours, but your site is very readable for me.

I think it is a good idea. I think IE was the problem in the past, as IE can now handle png, there is no reason to not use it.

Yes, I can read the text. Dark backgrounds with dark reds are more likely to nail us decrepit old gits. Red is pushing towards the extreme for older eyes.

The colour scheme is fine although some might find it a bit dour or moody.


Finally, rsts is a young whipper-snapper so his opinion regarding things aged and respectable does not count.

P.s. You are right about rsts being a young whipper-snapper, he doesn't buy his spakfiller wholesale to trowel in the wrinkles yet.

I like the layout and navigation, but not the color scheme, it's too dark and depressing for my taste. I think
PNG is a good idea. They can be far better looking than any jpeg for a given size, and show up well here.

I'm using IE 6.029 etc.. SP2.. or something.

Overall is 5/10 (I have seen sites that look more awfult than this)
