Since everyone else is posting here:

Here's my demands:

1) Block REM's, like in Procedure DoThem(/* big nuke */ X, Y, Z /* coords */, Charge/* >80Mtons = G'day */)

2) Line continuation character, like in Procedure Now() _

3) Back button, back off to my previous Lclicks in the source.

4) File/Insert

:)

3) You mean like Ctrl+L?

@Trond

Yes, something like that. :oops: A back button would have been cooler though, but never mind. Thanks! :)

I hope you mean "Wish" and not "demands" ?

@Bericko,

With languages like KPL and Microsofts free alternatives coming your way, I suggest you try to focus
on the contents of my post, rather than the wording of it. :?:

KPL is not really the dimension of PureBasic :wink: The VisualStudio Express versions are nice though. But none of them can displace PureBasic.

Are you seriously suggesting that your "demands" will make any difference whatsoever in determining which language someone will chose?

@Sebe, I agree, to a point. KPL can compile to exe as of 2.0, and they plan to implement winforms
controls around 3.0. They seem to move fast, and the GUI is very good, so we'll see.

A bit of competition is always good. :wink:

Anyways, I like PureBasic because it can do what I want, it's plain fun programming in it.

@maw, I was more or less joking, but not when I hinted the contents of these requests are important.

Look at this lecture: http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtopic.php?t=21260

FYI The contents of "demands" or just ignored by the team. And that's no joke.

Well, as for your "demands" I personally don't find a single one of them important. And implying that the future of PB hinges on these "demands" was ridiculous to begin with. Just because someone thinks something is important doesn't mean everyone else does. And in the end it's up to Fred to decide what's important or not. And I would not for the life of me presume to dictate demands to him!

As for the lecture I'm not sure if you are hinting that you think I'm being rude or you're hinting that there is something wrong with the not being able to make demands? If it's the first, then I apologize, I have no intention of being rude. But english is not my native language and that makes it hard to get nuances in the language right. If it's the second then I think the lecture is perfectly correct.

"KPL is based on .NET, and includes its own immersive runtime for doing things like using sprites and collision detection."
Yeah, that one's got the team trembling...

So when a non-native English speaker uses the word "demand" when he should have used the word "request", it invalidates the request he is making no matter how good it may be?
