It would be nice (IMHO) with "Column Mode" in PB editor, as in UltraEdit. :roll:

Now I have no idea how UltraEdit works, but do you mean something like holding Alt and selecting with the mouse?

You can switch to "column mode" in UltraEdit and select a block / rectangle anywhere in your editor window.
A good example is here,
http://www.ultraedit.com/index.php?name ... ge&pid=124
This is a really nice feature in UltraEdit!

That's what I said with Alt, but you want to lock it like that?

Ups!

I think I have to RTFM. Has it always been so?!?
No, it doesn't have to lock. It's fine as it is!
(Well, it would be nice if the rectangle / selection continued after EOL and empty lines, for easy viewing. (Have to complain on something, don't I?

))
Thanks Trond!

PSPAD
http://www.pspad.com (a free UltraEdit like) also has column mode, and the SynPlus editor plugin for Total Commander
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/synplus.html (can also be used standalone).
