Hi, I'm lurking around and wondering if PB have any good GUI creation tools?
I'm talking about something like DIB Controls (Delphi) = http://www.droopyeyes.com/default.asp?m ... oduct&ID=3

...Or do I still have to use Delphi for this?

PBDev?

here is an MDI based screenshot of PwrDev, PBDev is similar but the SDI image was shown over there :)

Note, for use with PB4.x you'll need to use the special beta zip after full install.
That is mentioned here:

Yes, I've read the FAQ and still dont see those 4 you refeer to.
They are plain windows GUI based, im talking about GUI with knobs, sliders etc for things like VSTi, remote controllers and so on...

Oh i think he misread your question :)

Well, it shouldnt be a big pain to program them yourself! Since purebasic allows rather easy 2d programming, i guess it isnt hard. If i were to program such a thing, like a vst (wich actually needs to have a nice cool interface, to allow people to be more comfortable with it, and more creative), i would program the gui from scratch.

Oh, I see... don't know then. Sorry about the FAQ remark.

Sure, np... Thanks for the answers ;)

Regarding other libraries... Say, how difficult is it to modify/adjust a tool made for Delphi over to be used in PB? ...Is there an advantage to this in the new PB v4?

Think I have to examine a few things like this before I purchase PB...

Sorry, TRN... Nobody seems to be interested in nice GUI development.

I do have the same wish... I like Delphi for it's suite of available components. I am a registered PB-User, maybe I will be registering Delphi Pro in the future, too...

Those UI things are not "official". You don't and propably won't find those in any OS as a official widget/gadget/control. I made a VST plugin called ReACTor?! for my FL Studio which had those knob things and so on, I had to create the controls myself.

PS: It is a nice VST, with not a so-cool GUI which makes 8-bit sounds 8)

Any chance that you will upload the vst and source???

never the source and neither the VST.
It's not yet done, it's about 50% ready, I stopped the GUI part, working now in the technical part. If you don't mind, I can make some demo songs with my VST. And did you really think I give it for free? Let's say the double price of Vanguard

i OWN vanguard. and if you can make something that just comes NEAR it, you can sell it. But i really doubt you can...
anyway i wasnt interested in your vst but rather how to connect to vst hosts...

i got enough software to make whatever music i want (trance, techno mostly). I got sytrus, vanguard, everything you will ever imagine. as well as a hardware mixer and keyboard.
and a 1200$ + sound system..

i got enough. just wanted to listen to your vst..
and on top of all that equipment, im "blessed" (dna, not god :p ) with a musical skill. Dunno if you are.

There are TONS of GREAT, HUGE vst's out there wich will outrule you totally.
why would you want to give it away for free? because no one would ever buy it.

(no im not mad.. its worse! dont ever use that  ) smiley to me!

I know, for the first beta it sucks hard
but check the announcement section in this forum, I got a new version of my vst done with a new gui and 2 demo songs.
