Very nice.
This calls old days from good old c64 in my mind, too.

Excellent work, va!n -- it's almost hypnotic watching it!

That brings back memories.

I'd like to see more retro style games myself. Who needs this new fangled 3D stuff eh!?! (Says a guy who plays a lot of 3D games).

Hrm I really should get back to work on Starsled, which will be a bit of a TimePilot rip-off. Sort of. I was waiting till PB 4 full release, but guess I can keep using 3.94. Anyway, enough of my rambling - you going to release the source for this?

thanks for all the comments!
btw, i didnt knew that someone already has released a "shadow of the beast" demo (with source as i have seen) for purebasic :roll:
I owned all three versions as original and played all versions! I never managed the level - where a stone must be on balls and moved! ? - in the 3rd version!
@benny
I wanted to release the source too, when i sorted it a bit... but seems its not longer requried!? :roll:

@va!n: Any chance of keeping this demo alive somewhere for newbies to see?

Well, i am not @va!n, but
here is my improved version, compilable with PB4.20 and resizeable window.
EDIT: If it does not work for someones it could be related to the fact that there are DisplaySprite like commands in a running thread, and i've heard it is not safe. But it works here. Please let me know if there does not work.

I thought the demo was va!n's original work, but now I see it wasn't.
Speed-wise, his one scrolls faster and smoother than yours (on my PC).
Did you use his source as your base, or did you both use the DarkBasic
source? It's just weird that the speed difference is so vast on my system.
