What do you think of Optimus keyboard? :D

http://www.artlebedev.com/portfolio/optimus/

* Will it be too expensive?
* Will it have a market?
* Will it work?

and so on...

Too expensive and posibly too much energy wasted in comparison to a normal keyboard.

Same here... :D Especially if you play WoW!

I'm using a Zboard today,

and so perfect if you wanna develop your typing skill, just make the keyboard "black as Zorro's cape"!

Then you don't have to buy this "Elite" keyboard from ThinkGeek,

As a concept it's brilliant, the kb now becomes an output device and could provide very useful feedback. LEPs rule!

I see one BIG problem! From their "Answers" page:

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) in our screens last for 5000 hours of continuous use (after that they don’t die but become dimmer). The screen saving mode is designed to extend the keyboard’s lifetime. The OLED screen lasts for around three years with typical usage.

It's a very cool gadget, but I don't think I'd pay $100 for something that lasts for only three years.

brilliant idea and very cool device
is it expensive? sure it is! (notice that when manufacturer says 3years it means maximum 1year in a real life!)
but we also buy so many other useless and expensive stuffs too!:-)

This Optimus is ubergeek!! When it is avail (end 2006) I buy one pronto!! Just to use it...

Price is around 300 dollar (us). And NOT 100 since that is the price for the MINI-Optimus (only 3 keys).

Would be nice to have the Optimus for my Pinnicale Liquid computer!!

It's about time! I've wanted exactly this for YEARS. Always wondered why
it had never been done before. I've also wanted it for those programmable
remote controls for your TV/DVD/etc.

I'd probably buy it provided it is documented well and open so that it works in linux and other nonMS operating systems. Also it'd be good if the tools to control the keys and such could be used to change individual keys and set certain keys to always be a certain way, that kind of thing.

Very cool tech though.
