@Fred,
Next friday is not so far.

No not a monday (too many bugs ... please remember you again) ;-)

Friday ~ 16:38 (or earlear :P ) was a good time (look to PB4.0 beta 1, not so many bugs and only happy faces there :oops: )

Please notice that quite a few bugs have been reported every single day since the release of Beta1. Luckily Fred and Freak have been able to kill most of them. But the rate is, however, continuous. I would prefer to wait a little longer to get better Beta2 than something that still has reported bugs in it.

Patience, please. I've been more than happy of the rate of bug fixing, but don't you guys put pressure on the devTeam. After all, we want stable releases, not buggy ones. Beta2 will be released when it's ready. If I could decide, Beta2 would be out not until the bug report rate has seriously been decreased, and all reported bugs have been fixed.

OTOH, the sooner 2 is out, the sooner it gets thrash tested and the fixes get verified in RL conditions! :twisted:

hehe.

It doesn't make sense to wait until you're pretty sure you have a release candidate before releasing beta 2. The idea here is to close off bug reporting of issues that were fixed days ago and everyone can focus on those that remain. If history is any guide, there'll be around half-a-dozen betas before the team gives the full release nod.

What would be the average time frame for that then? Around 6 months?

My guess: < 1 Month for release candidate, and < 1 week after for release.

We should run a pool on it. :)

"We should run a pool on it"

Right!
And last but not least:
If the bug reporting no longer effective (@Fred say: e.g: 'Works here' because he has the newer version) than it is time to deliver the next beta
