It would be nice to add proxy support to SmartUpdate (proxy:port).

It works here. It seems to use the default proxy setting in IE.

it didn't work, coz there is no option to set it, neither to set an proxi-user&pwd .

At work I only have a proxy connection and smart update is working fine there. O.O

Here it stops at "Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx". The IP is correct, but the authentication probably fails.
