What a start to the new year!

Happy new year folks. Hope yours has started better than mine!
On the return journey from visiting my mother in hospital today, I pulled over to the side of the road to answer my phone (a friend wishing me a happy new year!) I pulled over a little too far and slid down an embankment into what I can only describe as a swamp! My attempts to extricate myself from the bog from hell simply sucked me further and further into the depths, until I was 50 feet from the road and up to my arse in mud, shit, crap... This was about 1 p.m. Three hours later and with a convoy of 4 by 4's trying to drag my car out all behind me and without any glimmer of success, I had to call out John Wayne's local cowboy outfit with trucks, winches, rope, horses, helicopters, police, disapproving old women... and all on New years day! Yea ok, a slight exaggeration. They didn't have any rope! I had been warned not to leave the car where it was as it would have been stripped bare by morning. Well, another 3 hours in the pitch black, the pissing rain, the mud, the cold... Aggh, they finally dug my car out and I managed to limp home. Of course, this all cost me small (large!) fortune - and a new set of clothes!
Grrrrr....... Last time I answer the bloody phone!
