Yeah I know there are many people who don't like him but most of the people saying that they hate Windows never tried another OS. And I think all of them have their problems. Ok back to our topic Happy Birthday Bill.
And now please calm down and get your marketing less aggressive. You have got your billions. And pleeeeeeaaaase don't make .Net replace ASM let all future OS's work with native code remeber your roots!

Actually, I met this chap once in Amsterdam in the late eighties (87? 88?) during a large marketing event organised by the software distribution company that was employing me at the time. BG was in the Netherlands that day (they just had a Benelux subsidiary set up in Hoofdorp), so it was a good chance for him to address most of our Benelux resellers. I can tell you that BG has learned a lot since then about how to speak in public, handle audience/large groups, etc. He obviously improved not just the bottom line of his company. My hat's off for that.

I agree

I don't agree to all and every thing Microsoft has done, specially concerning licensing, but I must admit I am a great fan and has already started saving up for Vista which is to be out before xmas next year to the public and on june 21st for OEM licencees.

I don't like the way Bill Gates does things either, yet I'm not willing to switch
to Linux because it's too complicated and won't run all the old software that
I want (eg. there's no "Flight Simulator 2004" for Linux).

However, ReactOS may be the way to go:

Who needs FS when X-Plane is around? It runs on Windows, Linux and Mac. Check out http://www.x-plane.com
I dropped FS for X-Plane some years ago, because I can use X-Plane on both Windows and Linux. Also, due to my other project (see signature below) I prefer X-Plane for its fligh model.

I'll take a look at X-Plane, but it seems too high-spec for my humble PC.
But I'm also a die-hard FS fan, so X-Plane better have ALL the same cool
features that I expect (eg. virtual cockpit, real-voice ATC, etc).

Also, FS was just one example... I want to play ALL my old PC games.
I'm not one of those guys who ditches a game after completing it, I like
to play them over and over and over (I only buy stuff that I like).

Edit: I just downloaded the X-Plane demo, which is 1.76 MB, but unzipped
the installer is 11.4 MB -- that's some amazing compression for the demo,
or perhaps it's all graphics? Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.
