Hello,
I thought i would give you an helping hand as no one else has replied,
if only the pure basic 3d engine was updated oh well maybe it will be done soon.
ok i have done some objects in 3d there are loads of editors out there what you want is a 3d editor that can export "save as" VRML97 which stands for
"Virtual Reality Modelling Language"
Here is a list of 3d editors
http://external.csv.ica.uni-stuttgart.de/vrml/dune/
You will also need vrml converter which is here
This will convert it to a mesh which is then ready for use by pure basic
http://purebasic.myftp.org/files/76/vrm ... verter.zip
as for doing 3d maps that is a bit beyond me and i guess you would need something very powerful like 3d studio max - maybe the list of editors above will be alright.
I hope i have been of some help, you might want to do a search on SoulReaper there are some posts that you may fine useful on 3d.
one day pure basic will have ogre update "can't wait" - "holding breath"
LOL

Thanks for your efforts soulreaper but the link to the vrml-ogre convertor doesnt seem to work
I am very familiar with 3d content creation and look forward to making heavy use of PB but...
Reading in the forums and elsewhere all about the exporters and utilities for ogre in my experience leads nowhere! They either are not available for download as executables for windows or create formats that ogre(PB) cant handle.
I have no interest in loading up my pc with C++ development tools just to build software that may not then work- if i could do this stuff in C++ i wouldnt need PB!
So please if anyone out there can post links to convertors for common 3d mesh formats (3ds,cob,dxf etc) to the ogre that PB uses hopefully it can be made a sticky for all use new to PB(3d)
And if this info already exists buried deep in these forums please please check its still current before flaming me with it !
