it's the radical fundamentalists. muslim, christian, even some hindu have RADICAL sects that just want to kill. the KKK claim to be "God Fearing" Christians. if terrorism were able to be stopped, the israeli's , india, or pakistan would have found a way by now after 60-70 years of bombings, uprisings and killing.
hell, the romans, the greeks, and most other civilizations had terrorism of some form, and they had such a tyrannical system of laws and power and still couldnt stop it.

I saw this on the news about 6am as I was heading to bed, and still have not been able to get to bed yet. It is indeed, a tragedy and has brought many tears to my eyes. We have been praying hard for all of the victims and their families. I hope all of the British PBers are safe and sound.
It is being reported that one of the bombers was recently released from Guantanamo. It is a shame people have been so unfairly critical of Guantanamo that it led to many of these killers, being released. These are NOT nice people.
It looks like new Iranian president is keeping to his campaign promise to bring bloodshed to western cities.

We're still waiting to hear from rellies in London. However we're fairly confident that they are ok as none of the extended family there have contacted us yet, which would have been the case if there was bad news in that respect.
BTW, Guantanamo is America's gulag or stalag.
Sure, hold suspected terrorists. But do it in a way that is more in line with the US self-perception of being a just, peaceful, merciful and fair people. Then fewer other people would or could be critical. As it stands, Guantanamo is a symbol of how low Americans can sink. So no need to look up to them because - lo and behold! - they're just as bad as (and sometimes seem worse than) the rest of us.

Not all of us Americans are bad! Any comment stating otherwise is just plain wrong. As no country is full of all bad folks.
We all have our problematic areas and need to seriously get to fixing them sooner than later, that's for sure. If folks would use common sense and not religion as a life-guide... I believe we as a planet would be WAY further to the point of getting along with each other (whether in our own countries or getting along from country to country).
I see religion as one person's control mechanism over another person(s) via guilt trips, lies, and unproven high almighty claims of some super being that NO ONE has ever met in the 1000's of years that humankind has existed.
But, don't get me going on religion, next I'll be on politics and this thread will get funky!

Equating religion to God
is a mistake. All religions are heresies.
But denying religion(s) their reason-for-being should not necessarily mean denying God, or a creative and interactive force. Think big-bang, think Quantum Mechanics, think higher maths, think DNA, think "organising force". See the handiwork of God.

Having primed the pump ....
Can't wait.

The Associated Press reported July 7 that an anonymous source in the Israeli Foreign Ministry said Scotland Yard had warned the Israeli Embassy in London of possible terrorist attacks in the U.K. capital. The information reportedly was passed to the embassy minutes before the first bomb struck at 0851 London time. The Israeli Embassy promptly ordered Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to remain in his hotel on the morning of July 7. Netanyahu was scheduled to participate in an Israeli Investment Forum Conference at the Grand Eastern Hotel, located next to the Liverpool Street Tube station -- the first target in the series of bombings that hit London on July 7.
The biggest question of the day is British Authorities knew and protected Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, then why not common British citizens in London?

To me this looks like another "inside job".
