Hello,
I just registered last night and thought I would say howdy. I have been deliberating between Realbasic and PureBasic for some time now, and after getting serious and researching both all weekend......well here I am. Actually two Pb users, GeoTrail and xgp, provided some great advice which helped me decide so I think it only appropriate Fred should reward them both by giving them 10% off the next update

.
I'm totally new to programming (aside from some GIS AML and MMB scipting) so I'm really excited about getting into PB. Anyway just wanted to introduce myself and tell you that I'll try not to ask too many dumb questions. Ah who am I kiddin, I'm going to ask a lot of dumb questions

.
I'll start with this one:
I take it no PDF exists for the
PB User Guide found on reelmediaproductions.com, or for the
PB Survival Guide on the NightLive site eh?
I've searched the forum and saw no mention of PDFs but I'm on dialup

, yes dialup,.... so I had to ask!

Welcome Ginger!
One thing you'll like about Purebasic, is there are no update fees.
As for PDF, I beleive I saw a LIB on
http://www.purearea.net/pb/english/index.htm in the "User-Libs" section. I could be wrong and I'm not quite sure as what it envolved. Someone here who knows more about that will answer it for you.
Cheers and have fun programming in PB.

Hi Ginger.
Nice to see you aboard

I'm positive that you will get to love PB as much as I do when you get your thinking off MMB scripting and into the PB state of mind

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Dag, Sometimes bad impressions are the best kind!

S'all good.
Do you guys think anyone would mind if I made a PDF of the UserGuide? Seems like other noobs might like it to. If I did I would share it with everyone of course. Thought I'd ask because I would hate to step on any toes.
I'd like to be able to have the UserGuide and the PB Reference on my PDA for those all too exciting meetings. Plus I'm going camping and promised my wife I would not bring my laptop. Heh heh, she didn't say nothing about my pda
