Email notification for Announcements

I'd like to have a feature added to the forum.
A way of having the forum sending emails to users who selected in their profile that they want notifications via email when a new thread is created in the Announcement forum. I like keeping myself up-to-date with the latest and I think others would like that feature too, I hope ;)

I wouldn't mind an email every time a new version/beta of PB was released, but not for every thread in announcement.

Ok, so perhaps RSS feed would be better and each user could then select keywords which are interesting to them. Good idea.

Maybe the admins should consider this.
I could help with PHP if needed :)

Going one step further...
How about an external tool that queries the feed when the editor is started ?

you know that isn't a bad idea for the new editor im sure there will be settings for it to check after a certain time each day or week ect
i think every time it starts up would be murder to the server but thats just me :)
