Looking for a Book about PureBasic (not gaming side)

I have searched a couple search engines for a book that I can buy that explains everything that PureBasic can do. I know there are several good Websites to read from;however, I do not want to sit in front of my monitor hours on end reading. Thus I wish for a book about this language.

Yesterday I did read about one book coming out... but it seemed to be slanted towards game development. What I want to focus on is .exe building and even more so .dll creation, again by reading from a 'hard copy'.

Now, I have no quams about downloading an e-Book and printing such, if there are any all in compassing books of such available?

Thank you to any all that offer suggestions, help on this matter. I'm looking forward to ramping up my knowledge base with regards to PowerBasic as time allows.

Sincerely,

Is this serious, or a silly joke?

Not from my part...

I'm really putting some stuff together kinda of a Complete Idiots Guide to Start Programming using Purebasic.....

Instead of just pooring command set stuff on the reader, i try to explain why and how it works, and that there are several ways to make the same code....

I'm usually write examples for each part.

It's a slow process.... And i'm still in the Basic section :P

@blueznl
I haven't made the Table of Contents yet, cause it crashes OpenOfice 2 Beta

you could start by taking a look at blueznl's "PureBasic Survival Guide "..
http://www.xs4all.nl/~bluez/datatalk/purebasic.htm

Its real!

Now that is great stuff and perhaps this is the right time as PB is becoming less of a moving target. Or at least it is moving slow enough to target!

Looking forward to this, num3. Go for it!

I just finished printing out Fred's user's manual (English version) that is in .pdf format.

For what it's worth here are some points-of-interest:

1. Printed a total of 207 pages using a HP Officeject 6110 printer, in black-only, draft mode and it took approximately 25 minutes.

2. I used a two-hole punch with rings to quasi-bind such manual.

This offering is much appreciated!

You're up to write a "how to print the PB manual" book  But you'll have to write another to explain how to print the actual, and so on it will be an infinite loop and you'll gain tons of money by selling each book . oh wait...

I did the same "print the manual" routine for Autoplay Media Studio 5 (I use Pro) back in late '03. Then I printed the scripting guide. For the next 10 months I spent several hours each day learning the program and the scripting engine (LUA).

That really paid off and now I have made monies from my offerings.

I like to make a buck like everyone else, but sometimes it nice to kick back a little money or help.

*thumbs up*

Book - found one - 2D gaming based though...

I finally found a book that is just about to "go gold". I checked the various chapters of said book and there is lots of useful topics covered. The book is based around creating 2D Scroller games, which I did not want to focus on, but instead on .dlls and generally .exes creations. But, I'm sure there will be interesting points in the gaming chapters as well.

The book is a bit costly depending on who you talk to. The shipping cost is almost 10 (USD) dollars! (UK to P.A./USA=whereI am located), yikes!

Here is the link (I do not get any compensation for sharing this link):
