Webcontrol, line continuation and upgrade fee request

I've been checking out PB for the last few days, and I must admit I'm impressed with it.

Just
need some time to be shure there's no 'Look Mom, no long file names!' issues popping up.
Here's a small wish list though. Nothing serious, but things I think would make it even better:
#1 A few extra commands for the web control:
Code: Select all
Case @IdBeforeNav
BrowseCmd(W1,@GetNavUrl,Url)
Select True
Case (Instr(Url,"ExitProg")>0)
'The 'Exit' link was clicked:
BrowseCmd W1,@CancelNav
Exit=True
This is from another language, but since PB has a web control already, I'm shure this is doable.
This way, you can use html to build your UI, which opens up the language to a lot of exciting
possibilities. And a @GetPostedData as well, to catch strings from forms in the webcontrol.
#2 A line continuation scheme. Space+underscore perhaps. I like to keep source tidy, but those
three foot long lines running off to the right mess things up.
#3 At least an upgrade fee for professional use. I know this last topic is a dead horse, and I
don't wan't to discuss it. It's my request though.

Thanks, Henrik! That argument (to my #3, pay them if you feel that way) has nothing to do with
my #3 request.
Many equals 'no upgrade fees' with 'no businessman involved', which can be a bad thing if you
plan to invest in a million lines of code using a particular language.
There might not be a reason at all for worries, but again, to some, an upgrade fee is a sign of
good business practice in the software world.

or is it? isnt it a type of "im beginning to think like microsoft"?
I dont like things like 20$ if you dont sell anything but if you will use this software to sell anything you will need to pay 200$extra..!
i would never pay the 200$ in first place but i would hate to go around thinking "if i ever program something usefull that i can sell i would need to go pay a lot of money again.."
upgade fee's my butt!
of course, its fred's choise but if he change it and charge the users who bought it before, i would undoubly find another language.. u see, i dont like having to pay at random times to have my programming language bugfree..!
of course major versions could have a fee but i undoubly would think about not paying..
but of course, if you really have too much money you should go buy a license or 2 and then go send Freak some money..!
PS: i didnt think "no buissnessman involved" when i looked at "No upgrade fee's"...! i immidiatly pressed the "Online ordering" button. you see it was like a trigger.
when i got down to "Can I create commercial applications with PureBasic ?" and "When I buy PureBasic, will I get all the future updates for free ?" my mouse moved towards that button!
of course if someone thinks like that, i wont tell them not to do it, they can do it if they want. But if they want ruin the good feeling of having paid and "i can continiue using this software without new fee's" go buy a license more
okay didnt mean the "good feeling of having paid" thingy, but pretty good tells my thoughts about this..?

Fred, any chance of a quick comment on my #1? Is this functionality likely to show up in PB ??

I think than you should use the IWebBrowser2 interface (Fr34k did some code on this some times ago, should still be in the forums).

Thanks for the tip! Found a lot of exciting topics searching for IWebBrowser2, I'll check them out.

I checked out the search links for the IWebBrowser2 interface, and the possibility of catching links using it has
been discussed for the last 12 month's or so, and is still unresolved.
