Current MyODBC install huge...

I can not find any information as to why the current version of myODBC's installation file is so much larger than previous versions. I have version 3.51.06 and it is only 732k - but the latest version (3.51.11-1) is 7.21mb! Any mySQL gurus out there that know why the later version is so huge (and do I really need to use it instead of the smaller version)?

You got me there, but any odbc 3.51 versions should work when distro-d

I just posted this question on the mySQL forums, I will report back if I get an answer.

I found out one thing... the older ODBC client will not authenticate to a MySQL 4.1 server... I received the dreaded "consider upgrading MySQL client" error. Still though, 7.2 mb for a client seems a little fat to me considering it was 1/10 the size just a few revisions back.

Not that anyone cares... most people would attach to a MySQL server using Max's excellent include file. I just need to be flexible so I am using ODBC in case I am forced to switch to MSSQL. Oh, and I am trying to get my number up past 300... 8)
