OGRE 1.0 "within the next 7 days"

yippieIt's coming.
Notwithstanding last-minute calamaties, Ogre 1.0.0 (Azathoth) will be in your hands within the next 7 days. This has been talked about on IRC, blogs, and the forums, but we're now close enough that it's official news, and I thought it was worth explaining the intended procedure.
We intend to release 1.0.0 RC1 as a source release only, just like previous releases. We will give this release candidate 2 weeks to 'bed down' in the community, longer if people have problems, although given the field testing that has already happened we're not expecting any. If there are major changes (not anticipated), we may do a RC2, but otherwise we'll progress directly to the 1.0.0 final, at which point we will make precompiled SDK releases available as well as the full source releases. The may take a little time to produce for all the platform / compiler combinations, but will follow the 1.0.0 final source as closely as we can manage.
Anyone obtaining CVS HEAD now will find the source very stable, although bear in mind that you will need to obtain and compile some additional dependencies yourself (e.g. CEGui).
We're very excited about this, this is going to be big.
