Hi!
Normally i can fix my computer by myself, wether its a hard- or software problem. But this time i cant...
When i boot my computer, SMART status is "Ok"., Then windows starts to boot, and suddently after a bit loading a blue screen get up where the text "Unmauntable BootSection" comes up.. I have never seen this before, and i really dont know what to do. If i start it in FailSafe mode it does the same error.
I dont think its the cable.
I have done nothing special last time it was on. Not installed anything or something like that. If you can help me please do it.
Best Regards, Daniel

but i tried to use the "Dir" command but it said it couldnt get info on how many folders there were on the disk

Well, your HD can't be mounted. So you need to format it maybe(Please wait till a few more people posted here, because I don't know if there is other help). Save your Files with Knoppix on a CD or a USB Stick and reinstall windows after formating the HD. Maybe you have to reset the PC fully(There is a switch behind the computer IIRC[If I Remember Correctly, not the IRC tool

]).

Hi!
@kale: forgot to say thanks for trying to help
@DarkDragon: Yeah it cant be mounted, and seems only to read a part of the windows system. Right now im very happy i bought a new 200 gb hdd some time ago where i have all my musik, movies and games on. Also all my purebasic work inkluding installers/zips to all my pb libraries are!
so all i have on my 40gb smashed hdd is windows and all my programs[wich i have on cds and setups on the other hdd

]
but since my hdd did this: can it be a hdd failure, so i really should install my windows on a new hdd? (i think about bying a new hdd for windows and more)??
well the switdh isnt that just reseting the bios, so i could take the battery out?
thanks

Newer, larger hard drives are often faster (and quieter in some cases too) - so I'd put Windows on the new hard drive (seperate partition might be best). You could use your 40GB HD for non-critical storage until it has proven reliable. Maybe in another workstation?
It's nice to read that somebody who's had a hard drive crash actually HAS backups to restore from!

Hi!
yeah backups are great
well right now i got it running
a chkdisk wich took loooong time fixed the directory structure and now im up again

but next time i buy a new processor ill format and get the windows on the big harddisk. Yeah the new is alot faster even though both are 7200 rpm, but new one has 8 mb cache.
